Castle Roy

After 29 years of work undertaken by the Castle Roy Trust, the Castle is now safe for visitors to wander around and is ready for WEDDINGS and PERFORMANCES in the grounds with utilities on site and a large area flattened for marquees. The Bards Bowl and Panoramic Picnic Point allow for fun and games for the whole family and is proving a popular place for watching sunsets, Aurora Borealis or just the fantastic views down Strathspey.

Castle Roy's pond from the Wetland Wander, isn't it beautiful?
Please 'STAY ON THE PATHS' including your dogs!
We are so pleased with how it has turned out and, yes, we know it looks tempting to paddle or let your dogs have a dip and a drink. However, this pond is not designed to take weight or dogs claws because of the liner. So please enjoy it from the Wetland Wander paths.
The huge liner and the fountains were donated and it has also taken a lot of volunteer power, time and substantial funding to get it where it is now. We have toads, frogs, newts and dragonflies to mention just a few of the beasties enjoying it.
Also, we have seen Sand and House Martins dipping, along with numerous other birds and real ducks.
Thank you for understanding it would be sad to lose this wonderful asset.

As part of the Cairngorms National Park Big Nature Weekend, Strathspey Tours spent the day guiding visitors from around the world and telling them of the history of @CastleRoy and getting to know the Guardian of the castle!
