The Castle Roy Trust has taken 25 years to secure the walls and make the area safe for visitors. We are ready for WEDDINGS and PERFORMANCES in the grounds with utilities on site and a large area flattened for marquees. The Bards Bowl and Panoramic Picnic Point allow for fun and games for the whole family.
As of summer 2019, there is still some building work continuing and we hope that soon the castle will be completely open.
At present, accompanied tours can be given on request.
Thanks to Historic Scotland, SSE, Cairngorms Trust and The National Park. We have been able to get our consolidation back on track with help from Covid recovery funds and funds from our private supporters. Graeme Grant has done a magnificent job enabling the recovery work to proceed well.

What a different year we have had. 🥺
Murdo is missing his visitors, l can only thank his regular fans for popping by to say hi as often as they can. For those who havent been able to visit, we understand and hope to see you all soon. 😉
His stiffy knees are causing him some issues and all will be confirmed on his foot trimming on Saturday, fingers crossed its good news. He enjoyed some yummies this morning and a good groom, spoilt coo he is. 🥕🍏🍌🍎🥕
All the best everyone and stay safe. ❤
The team at Castle Roy Trust and of course Murdo 🐂 and his buddy Buster🐑
Scaffolding is down so Murdo is out on the grounds enjoying some well deserved grass.
His last mowing session only lasted the weekend as the builders came in and put up the best coo scratching system ever!!! So until it was down he has had to put up with hay and pulling down more fences haha! Anyway hopefully, especially for the budget, for the next wee whiley he can enjoy his foggage and the new growth. He was so excited by the grass he didnt even want his nuts!
Stay safe folk and we will see you all again soon 🙂
