Searching for that special present for Christmas? For those who have everything, what do you give them?
What about a Square Yard at Castle Roy?
They are even entitled to have the title 'Laird' or 'Lady' written on it. https://castleroy.org.uk/buy-a-square-yard/
Murdo out for his last drive mow of the year. 🌱 Was so keen for some green he left his hay! 😮 Poor Poppy is not very well, age catches up with these little ones in winter 🙁 so she is in the sheltered paddock with hay and a cosy area. Lets hope Murdo stays where he is doesnt raid the hay bale, break through the fencing to paddle in the Wetlands Wallow (WW) or make pretty cow prints all over the Bards Bowl (BB)... eep :/ or it may well be Stirk Roast 🥩 for the grand opening ;p cant wait for spring to harrow the obscene amount of cow pat into the Matrimonial Meadow (MM) in the hope that instead of looking like an alien landing zone 🛸 (funny little green circles dotted about) it will green up all over... 😀
Well, here we are! The end of another year and another LEADER Milestone complete. We now have a Panoramic Picnic Point, The Matrimonial Meadow, the Bard's Bowl and for those of you who like hanging about in the sunshine, You can go out 'Hanging at Picnic Rock'!
Someone, from a branch of the Wood family stopped at the Castle today. Though living in South of England now, he was a pupil at the school here and, as a boy, used to climb the Castle walls!
He left a generous donation towards Poppy and Murdo's upkeep and we would like to say thank you.
We are now working out the best way to shelter a friendly Coo with Harley Davidson horns! Thank you so much to those of you who have helped us so far. We really do appreciate it. The Highland Woodchip Company has kindly agreed to fund his feed this winter, too.
Murdo says thank you to you all. Of course, the more we raise the better his shelter!
Murdo is 'Guardian of our Castle' and is attracting visitors, not only to him and his wee friend Poppy, the pony, but also to the castle which was a stronghold for the clans, Comyn and Grant. He really suffered from the heat in the wonderful summer that we have just enjoyed and would be better...
Murdo is out on the meadow, having a blast and a bit of an embarrassing moment too (in video comment) 😉 he is jumping for joy thanks to the Highland Woodchip Company who have generously donated the winter feed costs Thank you 😀
