Had some impromptu visitors, folk are popping in now the season is giving us some better weather. 🌞
Murdo again proving the draw and a perchance tour as we were about sorting positions for the donated Blackthorn and Elder bushes and Birch tree sapling.
Well, spring is most definitely here and the visitors are coming in thick and fast. 🙂 Last weekend a tour was booked by phone.
Today we had a lovely family in the morning and two square yards are now winging their way to the ROY household.
Then thanks to a chat with a castle fan, on the ferry from Shetland, an American family had an amazing cuddle with the ever affectionate Murdo and a tour. I have to say thank you to them for an exceedingly generous donation. Without all the donations big and small we just couldn't carry on 🙂 Murdo was so keen to be the centre of attention today he even came up to watch us through the small gateway, lugging his horns around must be heavy work, so he had to get some support.
It has been a busy week at the castle. It got a bit exciting at the wetlands, the water now has a way in, and a way out! It was thought a stepped waterfall idea would be better. All the soil areas have been raked and larger stones removed. Wildflowers and grass seed have been spread all over so fingers crossed for a fabby spring.
Sorry its not a fab picture, they paddled off at the sight of me in my yellow outfit! We have some ducks on the pond 🙂 and l gave my first tour of 2019 since the the large group at the beginning of January.
Castle is looking good, l do wish we had seeded the new parts as the wierd winter weather would have meant it may have all been greener, but hey ho who expected up to 20° in February???
Hope to see you all up there soon Murdo is missing his visitors and getting up to ALL sorts of mischief ensuring l have to spend lots of time playing chicken each day 🤣
